1. Information We Collect
- Account data: email, display name, optional profile fields, and authentication provider identifiers.
- Reading & listening data: bookmarks, highlights, progress, audio chapter position, and playback rate — used to sync your experience across devices.
- Transactions: purchase and subscription records. Card numbers are handled by our payment processor (Stripe) and never stored on our servers.
- Author submissions: bio, pen name, manuscripts, and uploads provided through the Author Studio.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, and basic analytics for security and reliability.
2. How We Use Information
To operate the reading and listening experience, process purchases and royalties, review manuscripts, communicate about your account, and prevent abuse. We do not sell personal information.
3. Sharing
We share data only with service providers needed to run the platform (hosting, payments, email delivery) under contract, with authors regarding their own sales, and where required by law.
4. Storage and Security
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Access is restricted to staff who need it. No system is perfectly secure; we will notify affected users in the event of a breach affecting them.
5. Your Rights
You can access, update, or delete your account from the Account page, or write to privacy@kingdomculture.app. EU/UK/California residents have additional rights under GDPR and CCPA, including the right to know, delete, correct, and port your data.
6. Cookies
We use first-party cookies and local storage to keep you signed in and remember reading preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies.
7. Children
The service is not directed to children under 13.
8. Changes
We will post changes here and update the "Last updated" date. Material changes will be announced by email when reasonable.
